Nov 11 BCE: What else is there? with Allison Haynes Posted by Rachel Pradhan on Thursday, October 21, 2010
At some point in our lives, many of us realize we have been successful in our careers, we have our family and friends, we’ve travelled, or run a marathon and now we begin to consider “What else am I meant to do in with my life”? It is the shift from “Success to Significance”. Allison Haynes will present at our BCE about her recent trips to Guatemala building vegetable gardens and chasing her wildest dream, the end of global hunger. Her efforts inspired a group of 8 women to join her on her most recent trip and to continue on their own journey of self discovery and making a difference.
Allison will share her inspiring story of how she ended up El Remate, a small rural village in Guatemala, how she began working with a small group of 18 women building vegetable gardens and how that become a group of 75 women strong. Allison will challenge us to consider our wildest dreams and will discuss a process for setting goals and intentions to see it happen in our lifetime. Whether it is for ourselves or our clients, this story is sure to provide inspiration to all of us to make a difference in our own way.

Oct 14 Featured Presentation: The Keys to Successful Group Coaching Posted by Rachel Pradhan on Wednesday, September 15, 2010
Group coaching is a great way to leverage your time, reach more clients, and offer cost effective solutions to those on a budget. But putting together a group program comes with unique challenges. For example, how do you coach several people at once while keeping the sessions safe, productive, and valuable for everyone? And how do you find enough clients who want to start coaching at the same time, so that you can fill a group?
On Thursday, October 14th we will be dedicating our program to answering these questions and more, with a panel of established coaches who have years of experience coaching groups in a variety of formats. Just some of the questions we will be addressing are:
- What are the different types of group coaching programs and formats?
- What are the distinctions between group coaching, team coaching, masterminding, and teaching or facilitating a content-based program?
- What are different ways to structure the group coaching experience?
- What ground rules should you establish in a group?
- What are some tips for managing tricky group dynamics?
- How do you fill a group?
And, as a program participant, you are welcome to e-mail your own questions in advance to nahid@aspyrre.com. Get your most pressing questions on our list and make sure you get exactly what you need to get your next group going!

The Coaching Perspective’s (A Critical Mass for Business service) group coaching is about creating a business environment where each individual is not only aware of the company’s vision and goals, but they are clear on their own vision and goals. An environment where each person strives to achieve a new personal best that also drives the company toward achieving its goals. An environment made up of support, encouragement and accountability, not one of just checks and balances or a control and command structure.
Group dynamics need to be coached the same as individual behaviors need to be coached. Having the ability to see how individuals behave in a group setting adds significant value to individual coaching.
We do this by providing:
- Individual coaching from the top executive to the newest entry-level position,
- Individual coaching for people who want to sharpen their business skills,
- Group coaching for work units, departments and project teams,
- Communication workshops
- Change management coaching when there is either a physical or operational change that has a major impact on your staff.

“To be called a leader all one needs is followers, little more than sheep. To be a great leader, one needs to be worthy of being followed. Leadership is not a job description, it’s Being in action. Great leaders are known for their ability to develop self-leadership in others, not for directing traffic and putting out fires. It is a ‘given’ that all human beings are unique. It takes a great leader to recognize the essence of that divine diversity and then take time to develop that magnificent potential into its fullest capacity.” from “QuintEssential Leadership” by Michael Stratford
