Emily Woodman-NanceJust Do It!
by Emily Woodman-Nance

During a recent conversation the Nike slogan “Just Do It” came up.  It immediately brought to mind that over thinking and procrastination can cloud your path and sometimes turn into a major hurdle.

As coaches, we encourage our clients to go for it!  But, is this part of our daily regimen?

Are you the type of person that once you have your eye on the prize there is no stopping you?

Sometimes jump-starting an initiative can seem daunting.  I have a few suggestions:

  • Simply start the initiative
  • Know that the pieces of the puzzle will fall in place
  • Bring in people and resources that will make your initiative a success
  • Have fun!  That’s what life is all about.

To retain the passion and gusto, reflect on past feats and why the current initiative is important to you.

From Coach to Coach, I would like for you to take to heart a quote by Dan Dierdorf (1949 football player):

You go for it.  All the stops are out.  Caution is to the wind, and you’re battling with everything you have.  That’s the real fun of the game.”

Life is too short and wonderful.  Therefore, I invite you take no prisoners and go for it.  In other words, “Just Do It!”.

Warm regards,

Emily Woodman-Nance

Frumi’s Book Review

Frumi BarrStart With Why: How Great Leaders Inspire Everyone to Take Action by Simon Sinek

Author’s big thought: In studying the leaders who’ve had the greatest influence in the world, Simon Sinek discovered that they all think, act, and communicate in the exact same way—and it’s the complete opposite of what everyone else does. Sinek calls this powerful idea The Golden Circle, and it provides a framework upon which organizations can be built, movements can be led, and people can be inspired. And it all starts with WHY. Starting with WHY works in big business and small business, in the nonprofit world and in politics.

Those who start with WHY never manipulate, they inspire. And people follow them not because they have to; they follow because they want to. Click here for Frumi’s Book Summary.

”Stand Out & Be Juicy!
Magnetize Your Marketing to Attract Your Ideal Clients”

Presented by
Lisa Cherney

Now, more than ever, it’s crucial to stand
out in the crowd of competition.

There are hundreds of businesses that sound like they offer the same services or products as you, and have the same certifications, degrees and title as you. Clients can’t tell the difference!

To make things worse, when your passion doesn’t get translated into your marketing, the clients you attract want the plain, watered down version of you. These clients ask for discounts, complain and ultimately suck the life out of you and your business. And your marketing is a waste of time and money.

Learn how to find the perfect words and channel those juicy gems into your marketing. Your website, brochure and even your networking introduction should inspire clients to say, “I need that!” If you are ready to attract tons of your Ideal Clients (the ones that love to give you money and respect your distinctive approach) join Lisa to learn how to stand out, be juicy and create a business full of passion and profit!

Mentor Program: A Success Story

"As a newly minted CPC, one of the first things on my long 'to do' list was to join the local chapter of the ICF.  While membership has many privileges, the one that has most impressed me is the Mentor program.  The Orange County chapter matches new coaches with volunteers who have offered to serve as Mentors.  For me the process involved talking with Dr. Frumi Barr, Mentor Program Director about my goals for developing my Business Coaching Practice.  After a few minutes of discussion with Frumi she had somebody in mind that just might be the right connection for me.  Turns out it was!

Having the opportunity to work with a Coach that has been in the industry for more than 20 years changed the way I thought about Corporate Coaching (raised my consciousness!) and put me on a different trajectory- one that I am excited about and one that is in alignment with my vision to make a real difference doing something I love every day.  I look forward to being on the Mentor side of things in a few years and to offer a new perspective, connections and maybe even advice (how un-coach like!) to a newly minted CPC and Orange County ICF member."
