Instructions for Authors |
||||||
Submission of a manuscript or article to OC-Insights represents that the submittal is an original work on the part of the author.
The OC-Insights publishes a main class of articles, such as shorter commentaries/opinion/reports/viewpoint pieces of about 600-900 words. Longer articles or manuscripts will be considered at the discretion of the Editor who may recommend publication as a series of sections for publication in successive OC-Insights issues.
References, citations, and general style of manuscripts for this OC-Insights places references in alphabetical order.
You are responsible for preparing manuscript copy which is clearly written in acceptable grammar and punctuation. The Editor is not responsible for correcting errors of spelling and grammar. Check your paper for the following common errors: • dangling modifiers • misplaced modifiers • unclear antecedents • incorrect or inconsistent abbreviations. Also, check the accuracy of all arithmetic calculations, statistics, numerical data, text citations and references. All cited references must be given in full, including the volume, issues, and page numbers.
All tables, figures, illustrations, etc. must be "camera-ready." That is, they must be cleanly typed or artistically prepared so that they can be used either exactly as they are or else used after a photographic reduction in size. Always use black Ink. On the back of photographic items, write your article title and the OC-Insights title lightly in pencil so they do not get misplaced. Photographs are considered part of the acceptable manuscript and remain with the Editor for use in additional printings.
In-house type-setting is able to utilize your manuscript material as prepared on most personal computers. This will minimize typographical errors and decrease overall production time lag. Please send the first draft and final draft copies of your manuscript to the OC-Insights Editor in print format for final review and approval. Send the approval format by mail, email, or CD package. We look forward to working with you on this, knowing we will be able to serve you more efficiently in the future. |
