April 8th Featured Presentation: Core Competencies Revealed with Master Coaches Carly Anderson, MCC and Michael Stratford, MCC Posted by Rachel Pradhan on Sunday, March 21, 2010

One of the most important aspects of a credentialing examination is demonstration that a coach knows and uses the ICF Core Competencies. Last year, Carly and Michael presented a BCE showing exactly how an assessor perceives the presence and demonstration of a Core Competency during an exam.
Tonight they will present an expanded session where they will give specific examples of Core Competencies and show how to recognize the precise language Assessors use that indicates how acutely they are listening for the presence of all the competencies.
Once they hear and integrate these elements into their day to day coaching, attendees will be better equipped to show their full, competent presence and skills during an exam, giving them the confidence that they will exhibit the level of professionalism they’ve worked so hard to attain.
Carly and Michael will also address the crucial state of mind that effectively takes anxiety off the table when approaching the exam.
About the Presenters
Carly Anderson:
Carly works with successful senior level employees who are highly valued by the organization, yet find themselves in conflict or challenges involving others that are barriers to fulfilling the full potential expected of them. Her expertise lies in the areas of personal authenticity and leadership presence. She uses a range of traditional and non-traditional coaching approaches, with a solid and thorough coaching process informed by 12 years as a professional coach. She has coached business leaders, managers and senior employees on three continents for companies such as Google, Microsoft, GE Healthcare, Cochlear and Lloyds TSB Bank of London.
Carly has been accredited since 2004 as an MCC. She is a founding Board member of the ICF in the Australia/Asian regions, and today serves as an active member of the ICF Credential Review Committee, having evaluated 22 PCC-MCC candidates alone in 2009 for over 200 volunteer hours. This allows her to connect with MCC peers all over the world as reviewers, and to continue her own exploration of how to apply the depth of the coaching core competencies.
Earlier in her career, Carly studied media communications in Australia and has worked extensively in the media and service industries, both as a consultant and in management positions. She co-founded a corporate communications consulting company in Sydney in 1993, helping publicly traded corporations and government agencies graphically display and communicate their vision, values and strategic intent to stakeholders. She sold her holding in the business in 1999.
